Month Three: What We’ve learned

November 19th – December 19th

Where we’ve been:
  • Cinque Terre
  • Venice
  • Burano
  • Innsbruck
  • Lake Bled
  • Ljubjlana
  • Split
  • Dubrovnik
  • Zagreb
  • Budapest
  • Vienna
  • Cesky Krumloff
What we’ve learned:
  1. Most other travelers we’ve seen are Asian
  2. Cash-only is getting old
  3. Money goes way farther and has more value in eastern Europe
  4. Beef, pork, potatoes, bread; I have a gut and probably heart problems too
  5. To travel to destinations I want to because I want to and not feel pressure to travel to places because we “should”.
  6. Should have downloaded more music and movies
  7. Tourist information offices and good maps are invaluable
  8. Menus in English make life easier
  9. I’m ready for a culture change
  10. Travel is supposed to make you more patient but I’m more impatient than ever
  11. Our booze consumption has gone up
  12. Overly inspirational and cheesy instagram posts make me laugh
  13. Favorite place so far: Cinque Terre, Innsbruck, Cesky Krumloff (+_+ too many to choose)
  14. Least favorite place so far: Vienna (because it was so overly crowded), Zagreb (because of a shitty hostel).
  1. ¬†Most establishments in Europe don’t accept credit card and get mad when you pay with large bills…
  2. Italians should drink less espresso.
  3. Croatia is awesome and would love to go back in the summer.
  4. Europe has been amazing, although I can’t wait to move on.
  5. Updating FB with photos would have been a lot easier than doing a blog.
  6. Why can’t all trains have WiFi?
  7. Kim makes too many lists
  8. Pizza and pasta are the most served dishes in Europe.
  9. Need a vacation from the vacation. Bring on Dubai/Abu Dhabi.
  10. Cinnamon Chimneys are the greatest treat alive and Christmas Market snack.
  11. Least favorite place: Overcrowded Xmas markets
  12. Favorite place:  Alps/Iceland.
